Long Hours Backfire for People and for Companies

Apparently businesses aren’t as cutting edge or research-driven as people thought. Despite a growing amount of research indicating otherwise, companies still believe that longer hours generate greater productivity. In light of this irony, this article looks at some of the reasons why companies and employees alike are tempted to work long hours and offers some thoughts on why this continues to occur, even as a growing amount of evidence indicates the negative consequences for doing so.
