ReFrame In-A-Day: Success!
“Reframe event and filming went amazingly well.... It has been incredible to see the way in which the Lord wove everything together” – Mark Mayhew, Director of Marketplace Institute.
On October 26th ReFrame In-A-Day was a remarkable success! Before a packed audience and rolling cameras, through ten lectures by experts in their fields, the marathon journey through the narrative of God’s story unfolded.
The day began with worship and opening remarks from both Mark Mayhew, Director of the Marketplace Institute, and Kate Harris, Executive Director of the Washington Institute for Faith, Vocation, and Culture. Both institutes have partnered together to produce the ReFrame Film project, of which ReFrame In-A-Day was a key component.
Paul Williams started things off with an invitation to the Emmaus Road encounter, followed by Sarah Williams who addressed the problem of identity amnesia. With the ringing challenge to find “Who we are in the ‘I AM’ of God”, the audience was then taken through the Biblical story by Iain Provan, Phil Long and Rikk Watts. They began with Creation & the Fall, the story of Israel and God’s Covenant, and with Jesus as the Climax of History. By the time Watts passionately concluded with the meaning of the New Heavens and the New Earth, the audience was able see the greatness of God’s bigger story interwoven into the entire Biblical narrative.
Bridging the Story into our world, Bruce Hindmarsh discussed the role of the Church today and its vital, Spirit-empowered participation. Paul Williams offered practical insights on the life of Daniel as a case study in living as an Ambassador of the Gospel. Together, they cast the vision for letting the Gospel speak into every aspect of our everyday lives. Polly Long concluded the day with a gentle reminder of the heartbeat of it all: the joy of our Salvation.
After it was all over, Mayhew commented, “God has been so good these last few weeks in sustaining, orchestrating, and completing. I can't say how grateful I am to Him for yesterday and everything that went so well.” Indeed, all involved were reminded of God’s faithfulness to complete all that He begins. We are excited about the final phases of the film project leading up to its launch in the Summer of 2014. A big thank you to all those who came out and joined us!
